Technical Caye Caulker Diving
Caye Caulker diving is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. If you’ve already earned your SDI or PADI open water certification, why not continue your training with our technical diving courses? As a renowned Belize pro dive center, Belize Diving Services is staffed with experienced diving instructors ready to teach you how to dive deep below the ocean’s surface.
Belize Pro Dive Center
Belize presents tremendous opportunity to build your technical diving skills. Embark on fascinating technical dives surrounding the Belize Barrier Reef, such as The Great Blue Hole, Lighthouse Atoll, and Turneffe Atoll. You can also traverse incredible deep wall sites such as Myner’s Gold and Treasure Hunt or enhance your skills with comprehensive cave diving. Caye Caulker is the ideal spot to take your diving beneath the recreational SCUBA diving limit.
Technical Diving Courses
Technical diving education begins with two courses, Decompression Procedures and Advanced Nitrox, in alignment with the Technical Diving International (TDI) certification requirements.
TDI Decompression Procedures Diver Course
The TDI Decompression Procedures Diver course prepares you for planned, staged decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 40 meters (150 ft.), this technical diving course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits.
Your TDI Instructor will provide you with valuable information and skills, including:
- Kit set-up
- Equipment requirements
- Decompression techniques
- Decompression breathing gases
- Gas management
- Contingency planning
TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver Course
The TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver course teaches you how to safely use Nitrox mixes from EAN 21 to EAN 100. Mixes with a high percentage of oxygen can greatly reduce decompression obligation so you can get out of the water safely in less time than with standard mixes.
Setting the Foundation for Advanced Technical Diving
The TDI Decompression Procedures Diver course combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver course form the foundation of all other technical courses. After these two courses and some additional experience, the stage has been set for you to move onto additional technical diving levels.

Experienced Belize Pro Dive Center
Belize Diving Services – your personal Belize pro dive center — is proud to offer dive tours, expedition support and further technical training beyond Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures. In 2014, we worked to reopen Giant Cave which lies just below Caye Caulker. Pictured above is Mark Long’s stunning photo of Giant Cave. We are honored to have diving legend, Paul Heinerth (with line reel above), collaborating on this project, as well as esteemed colleagues, Bill and Diane Oestreich, Becky and David Kagan Schott, Leon Scamahorn, and Robbie Schmittner.
Technical diving training is usually one-on-one or small groups and highly customized for you. To develop a specialized package, please contact Belize Diving Services three months prior to your expected trip. Please allow up to a week for a return email as the owner, James ‘Chip’ Peterson, is often in the water.
